First up 2 shots of the Royalist forces that I have completed so far

Next a coupleof shots of those dastardly Parliamentarians. these still need a couple of Commanders to make it viable in gaming terms.

Update

Finally managing to get back into the painting groove. After finishing Prince Rupert I've completed Fairfax's Regiment of foot and Leveson's Troop of horse with some artillery guards and officers half finished. I'll post some pictures over the next couple of days if I get a chance.

Also been reviewing some of my wargames and role playing gear and started to list them EBay. I need to make cash and these have been lying around and not getting used such as Mordheim, D&D 3rd edition, Celtos and some 15mm painted AWI Americans. I hope I don't regret selling the figures as it has a habit that someone will come to the club and ask to game the AWI in 15mm.

I still haven't managed to get a game in this year but hope to change that over the next couple of weeks. Two new lads have just recently joined the club and are into WH40K, I'm not adverse to playing if it gets me a game.

Prince Rupert of the Rhine

Finally managed to finish the base and take some photos of my Royalist C-in-C, Prince Rupert. A very nice model from Warlord Miniatures. I particularly like the dynamic pose of the figure. It has a greater sense of movement compared to the Trent Miniatures version.

ECW Update

At last I've been able to put some paint to the figures again. All it took was for Newcastle to be playing on a Saturday at 3pm. It has always been my most productive painting time, in a room to myself listening to the match on the radio. Unfortunatly didn't get much down as some of the inlaws arrived. However I did complete the Prince Rupert figure and Boye from Warlord Miniatures. Once I've finished the basing I'll post some pictures. Atleast it got me some inspiration as I've now start to put some paint to a troop of Royalist horse.

Update

Nothing to much to report on the wargaming front. Done some painting, mainly some of my old collection of goblins (no pictures), using these at the club as part of a role playing game I'm running. Things dried up a bit on the ECW front, probably because I need to game for inspiration but still a bit short on parlaimentarian infantry. It's one of the difficulties when doing project where you need to complete both sides yourself.

More ECW

Managed to finish a couple more units for my Parliamentarians. first up the infantry regiment of Overton. I've been unable to find and reference for coat colours until Overton gained a commision in the New Model. So with a bit of artistic license I've went for a twany orange and brown coats. They look quite effective and I'm happy with them.

Next up Fairfax's lifeguard. I cannot find any reference of these being in Cuirassier armour, but I wanted some and these were rather nice models from 1st Corps.
