Feeling rather chuffed with myself as I've managed to complete my first project of the year. Not bad considering I only started in February after the Vapnartak show in York.
The final addition was an AT gun to add a bit of punch. It also helps to fill out the support options and provides some flexibility.
There is an additional infantryman added to the crew as the gun only came with 3 crew, but you need 5 for Chain of Command.
After this I decided to add a few more extras for my games. First was 3 Jump off Points which are integral to the game. These were made from spares in my bits box.
I also had an old Lledo truck left over from my VBCW collection. This got a quick makeover along with 3 haystacks I got from Warbases.
So what next! I've got 2 more haystacks to do and wouldn't mind an additional Panzerschrek team. Now just got to wait for my new project to arrive.

WW2 Germans nearing completion
I've made a few more additions to my winter Germans for Chain of Command. First up is an extra Junior leader and 4 more riflemmen. All plastics by Warlord games.
Next up was another support option, the Stug III G. This was a plastic kit from Warlord. I went for a white washed look to fit in with the rest of the army.
All I have left to complete is an anti tank gun with crew and 3 jump off points. Not bad for 2 months work.
I also added a couple of extra terrain pieces for the table. An animal pen and barricade.
I've now got to decide on opponents. The club seem to have most of the allies covered. No one has the Rusdians yet and they would suit a winter setting. Time to make some plans.

Arms race continues
After a couple of games of Chain of Command, I definitely need some more terrain for the battlefield and support options.
First up on terrain, and old Balsa wood building I made with some suitable wintering to fit in. I also picked up a couple of animal shelters from Warbases. Helps to break up line of sight.
For support, I wanted a Recon team. The 4 troopers are from left over figures. The Sdkfz250 is from Warlord. I still need to finish the Gunner.
As part of a command pack I had a forward Observer to paint up. Very useful as I discovered in my last game when I was trapped under a mortar barrage. There is also a Hanomag, as all German forces have to have one of these.
What's next for this army? I still have a couple of spare figures left which could round tbe recon team up to a full squad. There is also an anti-tank gun on order, then possibly another armour option, a Stug or Pz4.

More WW2 Germans and Fences
With another game of Chain of Command this week, I needed a few more additions. This was mainly to allow me a few more support options.
First up is a pair of snipers from Warlord games. Now these may be getting used tomorrow.
Next is a medic and a few more rifleman and MG34 team. The extra soldiers are from Warlord Games plastic Grenadiers. A few head swaps to help them mix in with the rest of the Winter Germans.
I'll be using these guys as a recon team. I've got a Sdkfz250 on order to complete the team.
During the last game we were short of fences. Chain of Command needs plenty of terrain. So with some more modelling sticks and coffee stirrers I set to work expanding the fences. These are deliberately rough and ready for rural villages on the eastern front. Though they could be used in the western theatre.
With these extra pieces I now have 11 feet of fences. I still have plenty of stuff left to make another 10 feet if I wish.

CoC Germans vs Commandos
Last night I got my first game in of Chain of Command. Thoroughly enjoy the rules, gave a great feel for small platoon actions. Even managed to get plenty of pictures.
Main learning points - melee is deadly. 5 Commandos wiped out an entire squad. Need to use my tank better, lasted one round before being taken out by a PIAT. Elite troops are very good.
On to the pictures.
Got a follow up game next week, a delaying action against a British infantry platoon.
