A game of Carnevale

This week we tried a fuller game of Carnevale, 75 ducats a side. We also expanded to a 3ft x 3ft table. Mainly because we wanted to use all of our buildings, however we didn't have enough plaza for the table so I proxied in some dungeon floor tiles to help cover the table. The game was just a straight up fight for 5 turns between my Guild and the Vatican commanded by Mitch. Just a few photos from the game as it was mainly just another practice game.

The table layout

My Arbalast keeping watch from above

The forces of the Vatican move through the streets

A Vatican stalker takes up position on the rooftop

My Rialto assassin got up close and personal. We discovered he is best kept at a bit of a distance to be most effective

The Escort watches the battle unfold before eventually chain jumping across the canal

Miria spots the stalker

She chain jumps to a balcony and then on to the roof to eventually dispatch the stalker. She then ended up missing a jump and fell into the canal

The Escort engages the Vatican forces. The Deacon in the arch way proves a difficult opponent

Turn 5 and it ended in a draw

It was a fun game and definitely looked better with more buildings. I have another 3 to build so has Mitch as well as a Boathouse.  We will need a bit more street clutter to fill out the streets. We also need more areas of plaza. I've picked up some sheets of high density foam and ordered a cobblestone roller to try and have a go at making my own. Bet we will be trying a 4 player game to see how the rules handle multiple players.

  4. Superb stuff! The layout looks grand, and it sounds like a proper tight fight ending in a draw—hope the four-player game goes just as smoothly!

    All the best, Andy
