3rd New York Regiment
Made some more progress on my second brigade of Americans. The first completed regiment is the 3rd New York. I enjoyed painting these in their grey coats. I took the pictures on my mobile and feel they don't do them justice (doing all my blogging via the mobile).

figures arrived
My order from pendraken arrived today. I'll be able to continu with my awi project. From the figures i received I can put together 6 more continental infantry regiments. I will also have 3 artillery pieces and some generals. For my generals I plan to have foot and mounted versions, because I will be using a variant of fire and fury they can be switched to represent casualties.
I also got an email from Jeff @ outpost apologising for the delay in getting the figures to me as he has been ill. He's even given me £5 off my next order. Now that is what I call great customer service. I'll definately be ordering again.

General rambling
Still awaiting my PC being fixed, looks like it will be next month at the earliest, one of my mates is going to put it together for me. Just got to get the hard drive and he'll do the rest.
On a wargaming front, not up to much. Painted some more sci-fi troopers and a converted blood bowl team just for the fun of it. I'm still awaiting figures fro Outpost and Pendraken so my franco-prussian and awi projects have stalled due to lack of things to paint.
On the blogging front I'm getting rather annoyed with the new word verification, just taken it off mine. Who the hell designed it, now my eyesight isn't bad but I cannot decipher half of them and so have been unable to leave comments on a number of blogs I visit (sorry folks). It's just annoying and a pain in the arse.
Anyway off to await the postman and hope he brings the goodies I'm awaiting.

An update
Sorry to say no pictures. I have managed to get the American riflemen based. This gives me 10 based. I have also completed my extra bases for my Greek hoplites.
Sorry to say that my blogging in future will be much reduced. I received the fatefull news that my PC has a hard drive failure. Not sure when I will be able to get it replaced. I will still be able to view other peoples blogs at work, but will not be able to post comments as that is blocked.

Quick update
Finally managed to paint up the last 6 bases of American riflemen, busy finishing off the bases. My order arrived from those nice chaps at warbase, now just got to await the next batch of figures. No photos as my PC suffered a virus attack and is ratger poorly at the moment.

More AWI test photos
A few more test photos from my mobile of my AWI units so far (apologies as these don't seem to be as good at the last.).
I must admit I am really enjoying painting these. For 10mm figures they have a heck of amount of detail and paint up lovely. It doesn't take much effort to get a pleasing result, even better when put together on mass.
As one of my mates asked why 10mm? the reason is simple, a lack of funds and still wanting to fight with armies. I've already got plenty of other figures for skirmish games. Also it allows me to fight small games at home on the dining room table. Already got some cork tiles that will cover 3ft square as a starting point.

More AWI units
Just been putting the finishing touches to two more units for my small but growing AWI force. No pictures yet as the figures still require basing (had to order some more from Warbase as I don't have quite enough). The first unit is my 3rd Maryland state line, this will give me a full brigade of 3 x 24 figures. I've even done a couple of command figures to represent a brigadier. The other is a 12 figure unit of riflemen, these I have managed to base, but still drying. To further build on my forces I've put in another order from Pendraken for more Americans. It will be a while before I get around to the Brits.
On another topic.I've also put another order in with Outpost for more of their Franco-Prussian stuff. This time for the correct artillery crew along with some Bavarian infantry and cavalry.

2nd Maryland
Just finished my second unit for AWI, the 2nd Maryland State line. Once again these are in hunting shirts, went for Purple mixed in with plenty of browns and grey for variety. The flag is just the national one as I haven't yet been able to source what their flag is actually like.
Sorry not the best pictures as had to take them indoors. I'm just waiting for the bases to dry before adding some static grass to finish them off. I've not got 4 bases of riflemen on the painting table which I hope to get finished over the next couple of days. Then I'll start on another unit probably Delaware as they wore hunting shirts with blue/white striped overalls (not sure how they will look in 10mm).
Next a total change. A test model for some cheap Sci-fi troopers I picked up off E-Bay. I went for a grey and white colour scheme and I'm quite happy with the results. The figures I believe are from Warzone.
