Lady Eowyn

Decided to paint this just for the fun of it. One of the GW versions from Lord of the Rings. It was a simple paint job using vallejo acrylics. I just base coated the figure then gave it a thinned wash of black acrylic, then re highlighted. Didn't come out to bad. just need to base the figure and she can join the rest of the ranks of my Rohirrim.

  1. Nice work, painted one of these years ago for a relative.

  3. Nice work? Are we looking at the same photo? Alright then, I'll be the bad guy.

I love the LotR minis from GW and would like to see your take on this version of Eowyn but your photo is horribly out of focus. Surely you can see this.

You don't need a fancy-shmancy light-box to snap some decent pics. Your lamp and your camera's macro function works fine.

Just trying to help you out, man.

  4. Yes, it does look like the figure is closer to the camera than the minimal distance of the lens.

If your camera has a Macro setting, you may want to set it on that then with the camera on support, take a few test pictures, shifting the figure futher from the camera each time, until you get a clear picture.
