Iberian Cavalry and a completed army

Now that feels good to get a full force for Infamy, Infamy completed. First up is a unit of Iberian cavalry to complete one of the starter forces. These are plastic figures from Victrix. I ended up keeping the shields simple i.e. slightly romanized.

I was pleased to get these finished as I was starting to get a little stale painting ancients. Still at least the army is finished.

So far the force is as follows:-

  • 4 groups of legionaries
  • 2 groups of Caetrati
  • 1 group of tribal slingers
  • 1 group of Numidian javelinmen
  • 1 group of Gallic Noble cavalry
  • 1 group of Spanish cavalry
  • 1 group of Numidian cavalry
I also have a few different commanders to act as leaders for the whole force. Now just need lockdown to end to get a game.

More Roman allies

To try and complete my Caesarian Roman force for Infamy, infamy, I have been adding various allied contingents. This time it was a commander to lead my Iberian cavalry (still on the painting table) and some Numidian skirmishers.

The commander is a set from Crusader miniatures so I ended up painting him as a foot and mohnted version. I like the pose of the foot model.

The Numidians are the last of my order from Newline Designs. These a very nice figures with very little flash on them. The one thing I like about the Numidians is they are very quick to paint.

Next up I just need to complete the unit of Iberian cavalry and my Caesarians will be complete.  After this I will add some Noble cavalry and archers to my Celts to be able to field all of the options for the Gauls.  Now just need lockdown to end so the club can re open.

Roman allies

The beauty of using a Caesarian Roman army is that you can use all sorts of native troops as allies / mercenaries. So I set to on naking some additions.

The first unit is some Spanish Caetrati. These will cover the role of light infantry. The figures are from Victrix with the addition of some LBMS shield transfers. Pleased I have another unit of these to paint up.

The second unit is some Gallic Noble heavy cavalry. I still need to add a commader for these. Again the figures are from Victrix, nice but the horses are very large compared to others in my collection. I also used LBMS transfers for the shields.

Pretty happy with how this army has turned out. I do still have a few extra Roman Infantry to paint up. I would like to get a better figure for my Centurian, possibly the Vorenus figure from Warlord.

The army so far

I can concentrate on getting my Ancient Britons ready for the table top.

Balearic Slingers

Looking at the basic starter forces for my Caesarian Romans in Infamy, Infamy. I still need to complete a few units to cover the options. The first of these is some Tribal slingers, or in the case of these figures Balearic slingers. I should be able to use the with the forces of Caesar in Gaul and Spain.

The figures are plastics from Victrix. I picked up a few sprues on EBay. I have also 99% completed a unit of Caetrati, I'm just awaiting some LBMS shield transfers to finish them. I also have a unit of Gallic cavalry and a 2nd unit of Caetrati to round out my options.

I've also made some purchases for an Ancient British army. An extra box of warriors from Warlord, Slingers from 1st Corps and a vouple of Roundhouses from Hovels. Should keep me going through the summer.
