Just finished this the last model of my daughters Dystopian war fleet. The battleship is a lovely model, probably one of the best in the whole range in my humble opinion. Once again I've used the same colour scheme and added the shark teeth. My daughter did point out a slight mistake on one of the teeth that will need touching up.
I've also received my next batch of figures from Outpost, this will allow me to get the cavalry and artillery done to finish the division. Totally going off track on my plans for this year I've made a small purchase from Pendraken miniatures for some of their 10mm AWI range. My brother and I wrote some rules for this period based upon fire and fury back in 2002 and I fancy giving them ago again.

Kingdom of Britannia Frigates
I got these models off E Bay as my daughter has got a sudden fixation with frigates. We've played a couple of basic games using the FSA frigates that I already own, but she wanted her own. So her they are 3 frigates just for her. They are not in the original colour scheme that she picked out (red with black tiger stripes and yellow lightning flashes at the front)as I managed to talk her out of it, explaining that battleship grey was a more appropriate colour, though I did have to compromise and add the teeth to the front so they look like sharks!
To add to her small force I've purchased a Battleship. I've got no further plans to expand these unless her interest continues.

FSA vs PE
My first Dystopian Wars game one on one. My opponent Tom took to the seas with his rather impressive looking Prussian Empires fleet in a rough 1500pt game. The forces if my memory served me right are as follows.
Prussian Empire fleet
1 Dreadnought
1 Battleship
1 Sky fortress
3 pflicht airships
2 Bombers
1 squadron of 2 gunships
1 squadron of 4 destroyers
1 squadron of 5 corvettes
3 squadrons of 4 frigates
10 flyers
FSA fleet
1 Dreadnought
2 Battleships
1 carrier
2 Lee airships
3 bombers
1 squadron of 3 cruisers
1 squadron of 3 destroyers
2 squadrons of 3 frigates
10 flyers
The battle opened with the PE advancing with their gunships. I immediately moved forward the destroyers who promptly inflicted damage to both gunships (nice start for me). Tom then moved forward one of his frigate squadrons who then sunk one of my destroyers. Over on my right the PE battleship came under fire at long rang from my cruiser who began to inflict damage. The PE then had to send a frigate squadron to support it. In the centre my dreadnought moved forward and began to open fire, promptly sinking both gunships and 3 frigates.
My 2 battleships then got into long range exchanges with the PE sky fortress and dreadnought inflicting damage to both. However I made the mistake in getting one of the battleships to close to the PE dreadnought who then poured heavy fire upon it inflicting some significant damage. Before my battleship could escape the Pflicht squadron pounced and commenced a boarding action. My marines just held out. The the Sky fortress entered the fray and it was all over for the stricken battleship, a prize for the enemy.
Luckily for me Tom only left 2 marines to guard the vessel so my remaining supporting frigate chanced its arm and boarded the battleship, managing to kill the remaining Prussian marines but loosing its own at the same time. At least it denied the prize to the enemy. Meanwhile my dreadnought continued to pound away, destroying frigates and corvettes as well as inflicting damage to the sky fortress.
On my left my scout airships came unstuck against the enemy bombers and destroyers. One was left in flames while the other crashed into the island.
Overall as the game drew to a close I had hung on for victory 822.5pts to 560pts. A really enjoyable game against a great opponent. Learning points, know my MARS and get to know the enemy strengths and weaknesses (i.e. don't get too close as those Prussians are rather nifty at boarding.)

Dystopian wars FSA fleet
Progress report so far. Most of the fleet is finished, just a handful of Cruisers, frigates and tiny flyers to be added. After that I'm not sure if I will add any more. Also my daughter, she of Wings of War infamy has expressed an interest in collecting some of the Prussian fleet as she likes the models. May get her a starter box and see how she goes, if nothing else I can use them in some of the clubs larger games.
This brings the fleet strength currently up to:
1 x dreadnought
2 x battleships
1 x carrier with 6 tiny flyers
3 x cruisers
6 x frigates
3 x destroyers
3 x bombers
2 x Lee scout ships

Dystopian Wars additions
2nd post today. As I am falling way behind in the arms race I decided to get some painting and purchasing done. So far I've managed to complete my dreadnought and a squadron of bombers. The Dreadnought in particular a welcome addition as everyone else has one. I've also picked up some additional frigates, cruisers, tiny flyers and some Lee scout airships. This should give me around 1500pts which I can then tinker with for particular games.

Dystopian wars update
Did manage to take a couple of photos of my fleet before battle commenced. Then promptly forgot to take anymore photos.
Sorry the photos aren't of the best quality, lighting at this time of year is poor and I'm still struggling with the macro on my camera. As for the game iotself, it got bogged down due to 2 many players all trying to learn the rules. Not to say that I didn't enjoy it, especially after making a deal with The Britannia player and promptly turning my ships onto the rear of the Prussians. The result, I lost in total 2 cruisers and 5 of my frigates but claimed kills for 1 battleship, 1 cruiser and 4 frigates. Can't wait for another crack at these rules.

Drilling platform
Just put this little model together last night using some spares from my bits box. The bases are from a platform set I had long ago broken up. There are a couple of 1/72 ammo crates which I'm using as buildings and the tower is a barrel cut from a GW ork gun. Decided to make this just to add a bit of scenery to the clubs Dystopian wars naval games. I've also bought some old spare monopoly buildings which I'll be able to use to represent a coastal town.

First Dystopian wars game
Well, on Thursday I took part in my first Dystopian War game. Must say the rules are quite easy to pick and make for quite an enjoyable game. When the fleets were all laid out I realised I was in trouble. There were 2 Britannia fleets, 1 @ 1000pts the other 800pts. Blazing sun had a 1000pt fleet and the Prussian with 2 1000pts fleets. Then there was little old me with a paltry 630pts FSA. Some careful maneuvering was required to keep my fleet intact.
The Scenario revolved around the Brits holding the Galapagos islands with 1 fleet awaiting support from the second fleet. The rest of us were out to stop them. The game didn't start too well for me with my dive bomber squadron getting severely mauled by some Brit frigates and their pesky AA guns. However my one joy was when my own cruisers sank a Brit frigate and damaged one of their cruisers. In the rest of the battle the Brit submarines were proving their worth against the Blazing sun cruisers while one of the Prussian battleships attempted to take on a dreadnought single handily and came of worse.
Now though the arms race begins as each player is realising the usefulness of certain ships as I myself am pondering the purchase of a dreadnought (well everyone else has got one). As you can gather I still need to get some batteries for the camera but should remember next week for the conclusion of the game.

Dystopian wars
Second post in one day. Just finished these. 6 Frigates for the start of my Federal States of America fleet. These are nice resin pieces from Spartan games, very little clean up was necessary. First 2 photos of my test models. Happy with the paint job. Going for a blue and silver look. All painted with vallejo acrylics. These are the first ever Naval figures that I have ever done. Still need to touch up a couple of the models to cover up a couple of mistakes.
Next up a photo of the first 6 completed frigates. I've got the battleship primed and will try and get it painted over the next few nights.
