Prussian Landwehr

After picking up a few figures from Reiver Castings I made some progress on the Prussian Landwehr. This is the first of 2 regiments I need to complete. Especially with the upcoming campaign games. The Landwehr regiments muster out at 2 battalions each, or 6 bases for Fire and Fury.

It was very pleasing getting these done, almost felt like a proper painter again. Though I have noticed some issues with my eyesight on these 15mm figures. Unfortunately backed up by a recent eye test, just another week to wait for my new glasses.

I did also complete a few extra figures for the Barons War. These were also picked up at the Border Reiver show. 3 extra peasant spearmen and a blacksmith from Reaper miniatures. Just need a smithy now for the village.

Next in the painting queue are a few more Dwarves and some 15mm Punic War figures.

  1. A good looking unit and figures. Your basing sets them off nicely.

  2. I like the look of your Landwehr! Hope you get your eyesight sorted. I have trouble seeing smaller figures too.

  3. I have been wearing "special " glasses for figure painting for years...probably 15 or 20....I had them long before I needed proper ones for reading etc. My normal distance vision is OK...I can watch TV or drive without glasses, but small, up close vision is rubbish now!
I agree re the basing on your Landwehr, looks great 👍

  5. Neil. The landwehr are great. Fifteen are beyond my skill to that quality.
Have been through eyes getting worse for near sightedness ( is that a word?) and cataracts, a good pair of glasses usually do the trick.

  6. Nice work on the Prussians, they look great, the blacksmith is an imposing figure, should look great on the table.

  10. Great figures Neil. I don't think any of us really understand the strain we all put on our eyes painting little figures. Its no wonder most of us wear googles!
